A brief introduction to our parish, our
churches and our beliefs
The Parish of Prestbury is on the northern
outskirts of Cheltenham, in Gloucestershire. As well as the village of
Prestbury, it covers the area west of the Evesham Road, including much of
Pittville and the Wyman's Brook estate. [more and map]
Of our two churches, St Mary's is in the village
centre, and St Nicolas' on Swindon Lane.
We believe in a loving God, who cares for
every person.
In our church worship we bring to him our
whole lives, giving thanks for good things and asking help for difficulties.
As Christians, we try to show to others the
same love and acceptance as we have received from God through Jesus Christ.
If you would like to spend some quiet time in
church, both St Mary's and St Nicolas' are usually open on weekdays in term
time between 10 and 3.
Or you might like to attend a service. You will be
very welcome whenever you come, but you will not be put under pressure to
commit yourself more than you want.
Within the Church of England, the parish has responsibility for the
spiritual welfare of everyone living in that area, working in collaboration with
fellow Christians of other denominations.
