St Nicolas' Renewal18 January 2003 What's under the altar ?
The first picture above shows a view of the pipes emerging from the wall where the choir will sing. The pipes are alternately supply and return to various regions of the church floor. The second picture shows the pipes looping at the west side of the church (entrance side). Typically a pipe will traverse the church eight times before returning. In the vestry the nine sets of pipes come together and a shiny, new boiler is already in place waiting to be connected.
Above all of this; the roof scaffold has been removed.
These pictures were taken on 18 January 2003.
