During this bank holiday weekend there was a special
service in St Mary's Church at on Saturday 4 May for the Celebration of
Marriage. Couples had the opportunity to renew their marriage
vows. There were also displays of wedding dresses, baptism gowns and
vestments.
Gwen and Fred Barratt have been married nearly 55
years. Being the longest-married couple present this day in St Mary's
they were invited to cut the celebratory cake. Pictured with Gwen and
Fred are Fr Michael Cozens and Mrs Gill Woodcock who made the cake.
