17 - 19 September 2004
Prestbury & All Saints' Parish Weekend at Sidmouth
God's Story - Our Story
To prepare us for the weekend's
workshops:
The Revd Roly Bain
The church's jester - a fool for
Christ's sake

On our programme for
Saturday 10:15 - 11:15 - An all-age session with Roly Bain in the Music Room.
Little did we know we were in for a surprise!
Who was this person who dusted down the tables, the candles and our clergy?
He made us laugh and he made us cry with many stories and circus stunts.
With the blowing of bubbles he led us in the intercessions.

After the slapstick Roly led a session on story
telling. He told us his story and invited us, in small groups, to
tell each other stories, some real, some fantasy and some from the
bible.

Roly was ordained in 1978 and co-founded Holy Fools in 1981.
He attended circus school in 1990-91.
Roly has clowned all over the UK; across USA; in Canada;
Australia; Sweden; France; Eire; Belgium and Holland:
in churches, chapels and cathedrals,
prisons, hospitals and schools,
camps, conferences and clubs,
halls, big tops and shopping centres
