Brownies at a Eucharist with a Difference
St Nicolas', Sunday 18 June 2006
The night before this Eucharist with a
Difference the 36th Cheltenham (St Nicolas) Brownies were sleeping in
St Nicolas' Hall as part of the BT Giant Sleepover. They had lots of fun
and everyone made themselves a teddy bear. You can read more about it on
their website
In their church parade the Brownies taught the
St Nicolas congregation a new song, Hey-la-li, and
told us the story of how Jesus fed the 5000.

Father Grant got some of the Brownies to hold on to a rope and told them
they mustn't let it go while they had 20 seconds to go to the corners of the
church to pick up bars of chocolate. An important lesson in team work
was learned.
After the communion, Fr Grant asked all the Brownies to hold up the Teddy
Bears they had made the evening before and blessed the bears.
