SONGS OF PRAISE
Join us in St Mary Magdalene for a summer Songs of Praise at 6.30pm today, 29 August. All welcome!
This will be the only evening service in the Team today.

SIDMOUTH 2011
There will be a Team weekend away at Sidholme in Sidmouth from 23 to 25 September 2011. The cost of accommodation ranges from £95 to £140; the cost of a coach will be extra. If you would like to go, please complete one of the forms available at the back of church and return to a churchwarden, Team Office or member of the clergy. Please make your deposit cheques (£10 per person please) payable to ‘Prestbury PCC’.

GREENBELT FESTIVAL
The Greenbelt Festival will be taking place at the Racecourse this weekend (27 – 30 August).  Discounted tickets are available on the gate for people living in the GL51 and GL52 postcode areas.

ALPHA INTRODUCTION EVENING
An introduction to Alpha will be held at the Prestbury Hall (opposite the primary schools on Bouncers Lane) on Sunday 19 September, starting at 6pm. If you would like to help with this please speak to Fr Daniel (575649). We will need a small team to set things up, welcome those who come, enjoy a meal and short talk, and to clear away afterwards.

YOUTH WORK – BACK IN ACTION
Youth groups restart from Sunday 5 September. New members are always welcome. Elevate – a fun and active way of exploring faith and life together is now open to all those in Year 6 – Year 8. The group now starts at the new time of 5.30pm on Sunday evenings. For information about Elevate or any of our other groups please contact Andy Macauly (520534)

PAKISTAN APPEAL
The combined total raised by St Nicolas’ and St Mary’s was £665. Thank you!

FOND FAREWELL
Sadly we say farewell today to Fred and Dolores Habgood who will shortly be moving to Florida.  We thank them for all that they have contributed through their membership of All Saints’ over the years and assure them of our continuing prayers for them both.

ST MARY'S PATRONAL 5 SEPTEMBER
This year our guest preacher at St Mary's Parish Eucharist (11am) will be Br Nicholas Alan, SSF, the Guardian of the Monastery of St Mary-at-the-Cross, Glasshampton (Worcs).  He will be speaking on the subject of "Mary and Prayer".

HISTORY OF ST NICOLAS’
We have compiled a book about St Nicolas’ church from 1930 – 1970.  It will be on sale, at £3.70, at St Nic’s after coffee, or please ring Paddy Spurgeon (232142) or Joan Bell (521169).  Profits will go to the St Nicolas’ Fabric Fund.

COFFEE MORNING AT ALL SAINTS’
There will be a Coffee Morning at All Saints’ from 10.30 on Saturday 5 September in aid of The Children’s Society. All welcome.

EUCHARIST WITH A DIFFERENCE ON "BACK TO CHURCH" SUNDAY, 26 SEPTEMBER
There will be a planning meeting for this at the Vicarage, Tatchley Lane on Tuesday 7 September at 7.30pm.  Please come along if you would like to help to plan and prepare this service.

CAN WE DOUBLE THE CONGREGATION IN A DAY?
Join us for "Unlocking the Growth" - an Education and Nurture event in St Nicolas' at 7.30pm on Thursday 9 September. Presentation, discussion and refreshments.

PRESTBURY CHURCH FETE 11 SEPTEMBER
Please start collecting now for the following stalls:
White Elephant, Toys & Games, Books, Plants, Bottle Tombola, Toiletries. There will be boxes in both churches from the end of August for collection of donations. Thank you!
Plant Stall
Any plants you can donate may be dropped off at our house most evenings and at the weekends, or on the morning of the fete at the Scout Field.  We can pick up larger items locally if required.  Thank you! Jon and Liz Bennett (228803)

ST NICOLAS’ 40TH ANNIVERSARY
We will be celebrating St Nicolas’ 40th Anniversary on Sunday 19 September with a Celebratory Eucharist at 3.00 pm at which the guest preacher will be Fr Stephen Gregory, followed by tea in the Church Hall.  If you are in contact with former church members / associates please extend this invitation to them.  It would help in our planning if you could inform us beforehand if you intend to bring or invite visitors.

RETURN FROM SABBATICAL
I am now back on duty after my sabbatical. Thanks to so many for the way they you taken on more responsibilities during this time and for your prayers for myself and the family over the last few months. It has been a fantastic time in many ways - God teaching, reminding and inspiring us.  I look forward to sharing about the time in the weeks ahead.

DEAN OF GLOUCESTER
The Very Revd Nick Bury retires as Dean of Gloucester on 30 September, having been in the post for 13 years. There will be a farewell Eucharist in the Cathedral at 7.30 pm on 29 September to which all are welcome. Please pray for the panel of six who will make the appointment of the new Dean.

ST MARY'S CLEANING ROTA
The new rota is now displayed in the porch. Please check for your turn. If you need a key to access the kitchen when it is your turn to clean please contact Rosie Dodd.
The number of volunteers has slowly reduced over the years, so if you could spare a couple of hours a few times a year to help with the cleaning please speak to Rosie.

HARVEST SCARECROWS
Elmstone Hardwicke will be keeping their Harvest Celebrations on the weekend of 25 and 26 September. As in previous years there will be a scarecrow competition with scarecrows t around the village! You are challenged to make a scarecrow – we’d like them to come from across the Team Ministry. Why not get together with a friend or even a church group to make one? WORLD PARTNERSHIP
Please pray for our Partner Diocese of Western Tanganyika during August as they seek a new bishop following the retirement of Bishop Gerard (part of the panel at St Nicolas' on World Partnership Sunday, 20 June). Also Canon Daniel Bugemwe, who is the Vicar General appointed for the period of the vacancy.

THE BREAD AND WINE AT ST NICOLAS’ this week is given in loving memory of Philip Godden by Marion, Iain and Paul.

TEMPO VISIT - Tempo will be visiting Pershore by coach on Monday August 23.  Leaving All Saints' at 1pm and returning at 6.30pm.  Tea at W.I. in Bredon.  Cost inclusive of travel and tea £10.  Everyone welcome.  If you would like to join us, please contact Peter Warwick
