LENT PRAYERS

be said in All Saints at 5pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and there
will be a short time of prayer in St Mary’s at 12 noon on Tuesdays.
If you would like to use the Lent Prayer material at home, please pick up a

. If you want it in both magazines please send to both editors.
EXPLORING CHRISTIAN VOCATION DAY 27 MARCH
Vocation is not just about ordination! Lent is a good time for all of us
to think about how we live out God’s calling in our lives, so why not join
other people who are on the same journey? The day takes place at Glenfall
House and is from 10am until 4pm. Cost £20 (includes lunch). Call the Team
Office (244373) for a booking form. Fr Daniel
PPY AGM SUNDAY 28 MARCH
Do join us at St Nicolas’ Church from 6pm on Sunday 28 March to celebrate
the successes of 2009 and look ahead to the future. The evening will combine
reports and elections with contributions from young people and a chance to
recognize Stephen Murton’s amazing contribution though his epic cycle ride.
A SILENT WALK OF WITNESS
will take place on Good Friday, 2 April, starting at 12.00 noon from
Imperial Gardens to St Mary’s (town centre) via the Promenade and Upper High
Street. Easter leaflets will be handed out to shoppers. The walk should take
about half an hour and will end with a twenty minute service, after which
drinks and hot cross buns will be provided. Bring your own lunch if you wish
to stay and mingle after that. All Christians in the Cheltenham area are
invited to take part in this united act of witness to our town.
THE BREAD & WINE AT ST MARY’S this week is given in loving memory of
Nigel Moore by Sylvia and family.

church, and even if you don't garden much, feel free to take them to give to
a friend or relative who does. Spring is late this year so there is still
plenty of time! Michael Dray (620452) mikedray@tiscali.co.uk

NEW LENT SERVICE BOOKS
You will have seen that the books for use at the Eucharist during Lent
have been completely revised this year. The idea is that they now match the
shape of the service at the other seasons of the year and should be easier to
follow. I have to apologise for one thing though and it is that in redesigning
the covers the introduction on the inside was brought forward from the
material for Christmas and Epiphany by mistake instead of what was intended.
The error was only noticed after the books had been printed and were about to
be brought into use and will be corrected in time for Lent 2011. Fr Stephen
REVD DAVID EADY
A farewell service to mark the retirement of the Revd David Eady will take
place today, Sunday 28 February, in St Lawrence’s, Swindon Village, at 3pm. It
will followed by tea in the Village Hall. All welcome.
LENT PRAYERS
Again this year we are aiming to ensure that our churches are prayed in
every day during Lent; why not join us?
In addition to the existing pattern of Morning and Evening Prayer and the
Eucharist, Evening Prayer will be said in All Saints at 5pm on Mondays,
