What is Christian Stewardship?
The Christian understanding of Stewardship comes from our
understanding of the generosity of God:
God the Creator
God has given us a special place in the world He created
God the Saviour
God has made Himself fully known in the person of Jesus
Christ; lived as one of us and won for us eternal life
God the Holy Spirit
God has formed the Church, giving us gifts through the Holy
Spirit to share the Gospel with others and to use those gifts in
His service.
Christian Stewardship is the response which we, as members of
the Church, are called to make to God for all that He has given us
and done for us.
The financial part of our Christian Stewardship - our money gift -
is what we are all being asked to think and pray about at this time.
Stewardship Sunday is Sunday 27 April 2008
On this Sunday we will focus on Financial Stewardship in all our
services.
Letters will be given out containing response cards for everyone to
complete and return.
If you are not already in the envelope scheme (where you regularly
give a promised amount) or have not signed a Gift Aid form (so that
we can reclaim some tax on your gift) please speak to one of the
Sidesmen or to a Churchwarden.
